I bought another new book called Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis today. This is the 4th book I've read. I believe for me that it is very important to be informed. I find the books totally interesting.
Each one tells some of the same things but each also touches on new stuff or words it differently to give another slant on the disease. The more I read the more comfortable I become with my disease.
I am still experiencing quite a bit of pain but am regaining my strength. I try to sit out in the sun each day for a while and that is really nice. I had 2 tests done on Friday on my kidneys and bladder that lasted for 3 hours so I was exhausted after that. We spent Sat. and Sun. afternoons at Fish Creek park with our friends kids (our adopted grandchildren). They are 1, 6, and 8. It was a blast. We had a hot dog and marshmallow roast on Sat then went Creeking (wading in the creek). The kids had so much fun. I didn't go creeking but had fun watching them. On Sunday after church we picked up pizza and chicken for me, ate at Fish Creek and then the kids and Bob, Courtney and Alicia went Creeking again.
Alicia managed to get herself burned a bit. She used sunscreen but still she burned but only on the spots that she had her 2nd degree burns last summer. She now knows that she will still have to be extra careful and keep covered with sunscreen and clothes too.
Courtney got her driver's licence on Friday, so we enter another new chapter in our lives. She is the only one of our kids who has gotten her licence when she was 16. Alicia has to wait until November of this year before she can try to get it due to this new graduated licencing program.
Well, I think I've bored you enough so 'that's all folks'.

I feel so sorry for you and what you are going through. My mother has cancer right now (2nd time) and it is inoperable. My time with her these days is so precious. I'm glad that you're doing some reading about your condition. That way, you know what to do and not to do.
By the way, can you send some sun our way. SUNBURN??? I can't remember what that is! Is there any such thing as a FOGBURN (Ha).
Take Care, Glenda
Me again....Tammy told me that you were at her shower and she felt really bad that she didn't get more time to spend with you and Courtney. So, as a good friend of Dayna, Tammy and me .....thanks for being there!
My mother just told me that your blog is a link on Dayna's so I had to check it out. I didn't even know you had one. I feel bad that we didn't get to talk much while you were there on Friday night. I feel even worse that I didn't know about your condition. I hope that you didn't feel too uncomfortable while you were there and that you got to sit down as much as you needed to. Thank you so much for coming and sharing your time with us. We are so blessed to have friends like you in our lives.
May God grant you strength for each new day.
Love Tammy
CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR! How happy was I when I came across your blog through Tammy's. This blogging thing sure brings people together, it is so great. I am glad you have become one of us...we all get sucked in at some point:)
I was actually just telling my husband the story from camp when you and Char got so mad at us and you threatened us if we even stepped foot out of bed to go to the bathroom. I will never forget the sound of you and Char laughing back in your room that night! haha!
It would be great to hear from you, come on over and check out our blog:)
Sorry to hear about the Crohns, I will be praying for you.
Yvonne
I think that we should all take pleasure in the simple things. Like, for example, side walk chalk.
I remember that story too Char. Ah those were good times. I loved being a camper. That story gets brought up alot.
You all have no idea how much that story gets brought up. It gets brought up a lot in this house!
